Noah Trusted God
Long ago, the world had become filled with violence and people had turned away from God.
But there was one man named Noah who loved God and tried to live the right way.
God saw Noah’s faithfulness and gave him a very unusual instruction.
God told Noah to build a huge ark because a great flood was coming.
God Gives Noah a Big Job
The ark would be enormous.
God gave Noah instructions about how to build it and told him to bring his family inside.
Noah was also told to bring animals into the ark so that they would survive the flood.
It must have seemed like an impossible job.
But Noah trusted God.
Noah Builds the Ark
Noah began working.
Day after day, he continued building the ark exactly as God had instructed.
People may not have understood what Noah was doing, but Noah did not give up.
He chose to obey God even before he could see what was going to happen.
The Animals Come
When the ark was ready, Noah and his family prepared to enter.
Animals came to the ark just as God had said.
There were large animals and small animals, birds and creatures that moved along the ground.
Noah, his family, and the animals went safely inside.
The Rain Begins
Then the rain began to fall.
It rained for forty days and forty nights.
The waters rose higher and higher until the ark was floating above the flooded land.
Inside the ark, Noah and his family were safe because they had trusted and obeyed God.
Waiting Inside the Ark
The rain eventually stopped, but Noah could not leave the ark immediately.
The earth was still covered with water.
Noah had to wait patiently while the waters slowly went down.
Waiting was part of trusting God too.
The Dove Returns
Noah sent birds out from the ark to see whether the land had become dry.
One day, a dove returned carrying a fresh olive leaf.
Noah knew that the water was disappearing and plants were growing again.
Later, the dove did not return at all.
Soon the earth was dry enough for Noah, his family, and the animals to leave the ark.
A New Beginning
When Noah stepped onto dry ground, he thanked and worshiped God.
God made a covenant with Noah and promised that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood like this.
Then God placed a rainbow in the sky as a sign of His promise.
The Rainbow and God’s Promise
Whenever Noah saw the rainbow, it was a reminder of God’s covenant.
The storm had been great, but God had remained faithful.
Noah’s story became a powerful reminder that trusting God sometimes means obeying Him before we understand everything.
What Can We Learn?
Noah trusted God even when he could not yet see the flood.
He kept doing what God asked even when the task was difficult.
Sometimes we may not understand why God asks us to do something right.
Noah reminds us that faith means trusting God and obeying Him one step at a time.
God is faithful, and His promises can be trusted.
A Simple Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for the story of Noah.
Help me trust You even when I do not understand everything. Give me courage to obey You and remind me that Your promises are faithful.
