Today’s Scripture

Psalm 37:23–24

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.”

There are seasons when everyone around you seems to be moving forward.

Someone gets married.

Someone buys a home.

Someone gets the job you wanted.

Someone starts a family.

Someone finally reaches the dream you have been praying about for years.

And while you are happy for them, a quiet question begins growing inside:

“God, what about me?”

It is easy to look at someone else’s progress and begin believing that your own life is behind schedule.

But God does not measure your life by someone else’s timeline.

Comparison Makes Waiting Harder

Comparison can turn a normal season of waiting into a season of discouragement.

Suddenly, what God has already given you does not feel like enough.

You stop seeing your progress because you are too busy looking at someone else’s.

But Scripture reminds us that the Lord directs our steps.

Not their steps.

Your steps.

God may be doing something in your life that requires a different pace.

Some doors need to remain closed for a while.

Some lessons take time.

Some relationships need preparation.

Some opportunities require growth before they can become blessings.

Delay does not always mean denial.

Sometimes delay is preparation.

You Are Not Late

God is not looking at your life wondering how everything got so far behind.

He sees the entire road.

You see today.

He sees what today is preparing you for.

That is why trusting God’s timing can be difficult.

We want answers now.

God often gives direction one step at a time.

Psalm 37 does not say God reveals the entire journey.

It says He establishes our steps.

One step.

Then another.

Then another.

Stop Measuring Your Life Against Someone Else’s

Someone else’s breakthrough is not proof that God forgot you.

Someone else’s success does not reduce what God can do in your life.

Their story is theirs.

Your story is yours.

You may be in chapter four while comparing yourself to someone in chapter twelve.

Keep walking.

Keep praying.

Keep growing.

Keep doing what God has placed in front of you today.

You do not need to understand the entire journey to take the next faithful step.

Prayer for Today

Father,

Sometimes I look at the lives of others and feel as though I am falling behind.

Forgive me for measuring my journey against someone else’s.

Help me trust Your timing even when I do not understand it.

Guide my steps today.

Give me patience when I want to rush ahead and faith when the road feels slow.

Remind me that a season of waiting is not a wasted season.

Help me focus on what You are doing in my life instead of what You are doing in someone else’s.

I trust that You know where You are leading me.

Amen.

Today’s Reminder

You are not required to have your entire life figured out today.

You only need enough faith for the next step.

Your life is not late when God is still leading the way.
